We held our traditional “August Bank Holiday” outing to the fabulous Castle Course at St Andrews on Monday 27thAugust 2018. The outing was very well supported by our members with 20 playing on the day in some warm sunny weather.
The course was an excellent links course and a great test of golf. The greens, in particular, provided some challenging putts but this made it all the more enjoyable. We were also very well looked after by the staff at the club.
Playing Stableford format on the day for the Glasgow Directors Cup the results were as follows;
1st place – and winner of the Glasgow Directors Cup with 35 points was Bobby Roberts.
Well done Bobby!
2nd place – with 33 points was Alan Turner
3rd place – with 32 points was Gordon Forrest
Closest to the hole was Stuart Clark and Longest Drive was Alan Turner who each won a sleeve of golf balls.

Race to West Kilbride
The leaderboard scores for the “Race to West Kilbride” have now been updated on the relevant part of the website. 5 members have now played 5 outings and there are a host of others who can still win with two outings at Ranfurly Castle and West Kilbride to play. Remember to have a chance of winning this trophy you have to play a minimum of 5 outings in the season.
Our next outing is on Sunday 7thOctober 2018 to Ranfurly Castle and the circular will be out shortly. I hope to see you all there.
